Kid's Clothes Week - Day 1

Here is project one for KCW... a bubble-skirt dress with flutter sleeves.

I used my niece's measurements to draft a basic bodice, added flutter sleeves and a (knee-length-ish) bubble skirt. The fabric is a nice light cotton, I think maybe double gauze, from my stash and the bodice and skirt are both lined with white cotton. For back closures I used plain pearly buttons.

I tried to get some photos of the little miss modelling her dress but she flipped between hyper and super-shy so these are the best of the bunch...

And a few months on, it's still a firm favourite...

  1. Happy KCW! I'm sewing along as well. Hey- thought I'd mention that a group of bloggers and I have started a facebook group specifically for new and upcoming bloggers to network together, ask questions, etc. If you'd like to join, the name of the group is "small fry bloggers" ... hope to see you there!
